Maintenance and Cleaning
- Pull the plug out of the socket before carrying out any work on the power tool.
- To ensure safe and efficient operation, always keep the power tool and the ventilation slots clean.
In order to avoid safety hazards, if the power supply cord needs to be replaced, this must be done by Bosch or by an after-sales service centre that is authorised to repair Bosch power tools.
Adjusting the Guide Rail Gap (see figure D)
If the power tool vibrates strongly when drilling or a gap is visible on the guide rail, the width of the guide rail gap must be adjusted. This prevents application tools from being snapped off and avoids damage to the power tool.
For this, you will need a hex key (2.5 mm) and a ring spanner or open-ended spanner (8 mm).
- Pull the mains plugs out of the plug socket, remove application tools and the coolant supply system and place the power tool down on a firm, level and horizontal surface.
- Turn the drive unit (10) all the way down using the crank handle (4).
- Hold the set screws (29) with the hex key and loosen all 4 nuts with the ring spanner or open-ended spanner.
- Tighten the 3 lower screws (29) using the hex key. Turn the drive unit (10) with the crank handle (4) from bottom to top and back again. The feed force should be even – not too loose, not too tight.
- Turn the drive unit (10) all the way up using the crank handle (4).
- Tighten the top screw (29) using the hex key. Turn the drive unit (10) with the crank handle (4) from top to bottom and back again. The feed force should be even – not too loose, not too tight.
- Hold the set screws (29) with the hex key and tighten all 4 nuts with the ring spanner or open-ended spanner.
